Key program components

Life Skills Education :

Life skills focus on encouraging positive behaviour for effective social engagements and may include self-control, problem solving, conflict resolution, and critical thinking.

To achieve positive outcomes in the fight against HIV/AIDS, the Foundation will involve the community and create links with the youth by:

  • Organizing Educational workshops on HIV/AIDS prevention strategies for organizational leaders and peers groups seeking to create behavioural change among the target groups.
  • Holding youth mentorship programs .
  • Observing and attending events, such as National Youth Day, International HIV/AIDS day among others

Youth Friendly Health Services: Youth have access to a safe environment where they can be tested or counseled without fear of societal judgment. Activities include:

  • Providing training for health service providers about creating a secure and healthy environment for youth
  • Setting up community meetings to open dialogues about people's opinions on HIV/AIDS to reduce stigma and discrimination towards people living with HIV
  • Launching youth friendly corners

Accessing Condoms for Youth: Fai-Foundation distributes condoms as a preventative method and educate youth on safe sex practices to help them protect against STIs, HIV and AIDS.

Clinical HIV counseling and Testing outreaches: One of the effective approaches of Fai-Foundation is bringing services closer to the beneficiaries. The clinical outreaches are organized to populated areas like towns, slums, and for specifically vulnerable groups like Fishermen, sex workers, university students among others so that access to testing and initiation of ARVs treatment can be initiated for those found positive with HIV.

Environmental conservation and Advocacy.

Fai-Foundation maintains and improves the standards of performance of professionals in environmental health by encouraging research, education, and the dissemination of information by:

Raising public awareness on the relevance of environment conservation and management.

Empowering communities with technical expertise and trainings on natural environment conservation and issues of bio diversity.

Carrying out research on environment related issues.

Protecting water sources such as wetlands resources, rivers, springs, boreholes, lakes and conservation of other natural resources.

Promoting tree planting, agro forestry and natural resource conservation to reverse the environmental degradation and to fight against climatic change.

Conserving wildlife and biodiversity.

Promoting and enhancing waste management and recycling plants.

Fai-Foundation Orphanage Center

Fai-Foundation maintains an orphanage and child care center catering for the vulnerable children in Uganda. The children are predominantly homeless, orphans, HIV+, abandoned, neglected, or abused children who have been removed from a harmful environment and brought to the orphanage center for safety and love. When possible, children are placed with host families in the community, and the orphanage center will cater for all the child's needs such as education, clothing, hygiene, medical, food, emotional, and so forth.
